Ganiyu Ismalia a 23 years old man, was sentenced to three years imprisonment by the Magistrates Court in Yaba for belonging to an unlawful association in the state.
The Prosecutor, Godwin Oriabure told the court that the accused was arrested on March 3, in the Imota area of Ikorodu by the Anti-cultism squad of the Lagos State Police Command.
Ismalia confessed to belonging to a cult group, as he pleaded guilty to the offense, as he revealed that his friends had influenced him to join the group. He also disclosed that they do usually have their meetings every first Sunday of the month at St John’s primary school in Imota.
The presiding Magistrate, S. O Obasa, said that the accused was sentenced after he pleaded guilty to the offense.
