The Sokoto State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has reported that it has arrested four suspected bandits connected with the killing of Lawali Agajiba, who has been identified as the ward chairman of the All Progressives Congress in the state.
The Command’s spokesperson, DSP Sanusi Abubakar, who disclosed in a statement on Tuesday, December 3, dispelled the rumors that Agajiba’s murder was tied to politics.
The command had received a report on December 31, 2022, that suspected bandits had invaded Gidan Huloti, Tungar Maza, Galadi, and Agajibi villages in Gwadabawa Council area and had rustled a large number of cattle and sheep belonging to different households in the said villages.
During the attack, the Command’s spokesperson had revealed, the bandits had fatally shot Lawali Agajiba, who was later discovered to be the ward chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the area.
“There was an immediate follow-up by the police that led to the interception and recovery of few of the livestock and four members of the syndicate have been arrested while they were transporting some of the rustled livestock.” Abubakar had remarked.
