The Nigerian government has granted N2.3 billion for the start of the Magnus
Centennial Aircraft local assembly at the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology in
Zaria, Kaduna State.

This was revealed by Hadi Sirika, Minister of Aviation, following the FEC meeting
presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

According to the Minister, this is a significant first step in making Nigeria an aircraft
manufacturing center.

Sirika disclosed that the FEC granted N2.3 billion for the Magnus Centennial Aircraft’s local assembly, which will take place alongside training.

The Minister also stated that, despite the civil aviation industry’s decision to discontinue the spin and spin recovery training program, the need for such training has resurfaced, as it teaches students how to recognize when they are in a spin scenario and how to recover.

He went on to say that the firm, Messrs Magnus, recognized the gap and began to
develop planes that can spin and come out of it so that students could be trained on it.

Sirika stated that the FG aims to assemble them locally because the plane is fully
aerobatic and would benefit the Armed Forces.
