Ex-Chealsea player, Christian Atsu, who had been among the victims purportedly trapped under rubble after the massive earthquake that hit Turkey in the early hours of Monday, February 6, has been found alive. This was according to Daily Mail Online.
Since the earthquake, over 3000 people have been killed and thousands more left wounded after the destructive earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria overnight, leveling neighborhoods while families were asleep.
A search and rescue operation for the former Chelsea and Newcastle player was launched, and it was widely reported that it was successful.
A Bola, a Portuguese news outlet, had been the first to report that Atsu had been found alive underneath the rubbles after a search and rescue operation had been launched. He had then been transported to a hospital after he had been observed having breathing difficulties and injuring his right foot during the earthquake.
Atsu had joined Chelsea as a youngster in 2013 from Porto before he was sent on several loaning spells. He had also spent considerable time at Everton and Bournemouth before making a permanent switch to Newcastle United in 2017.
