The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate for governor of Taraba state, Kefas Agbu, has finally been recognized as the state’s new governor by the Independent National Election Commission, or INEC.

The candidate has met all eligibility requirements, according to the returning officer, Professor Mohammed Ahmad Abdulaziz, who made the announcement early on Tuesday in Jalingo, the state’s capital. As a result, he has been elected as Taraba state’s governor.

In the gubernatorial election held last Saturday, the governor-elect received a total of 257,926 votes; however, his closest opponent, Professor Sani Yahaya of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), received 202,277 votes.

Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, a former deputy minority leader who later joined the All Progressives Party (APC), finished third with 142,502 votes.

Agbu promised to support everyone in the state, regardless of their political, religious, or tribal ties, in his acceptance address.

He made an appeal to all of his rival competitors for crucial assistance.

Inuwa Bakari, the PDP’s state chairman, expressed his joy at the victory by stating that it belongs to the entire state’s population rather than just the PDP.
