The level of superstitious beliefs in Africa is high, and sometimes dangerous to the residents and citizens.

In Benue State, the Benue State Police Command has arrested two men for burying an elderly man alive after accusing him of witchcraft.

This announcement was made by the Benue Police Spokesperson, Catherine Anene. According to her, the incident occurred in Ikyva, Konishisha L.GA. of the state, where some youths of the community, barge into the house of the man and accused him of sending lightning to kill his sons and his wife, whereas the deceased died as a result of lightning which struck due to a heavy rainstorm

“An elderly man was buried alive because it was alleged that he sent lightning to his two sons and wife. One of the sons was just two-month-old, she said.”

The youths then buried the man alive, by the time the police got the report and arrived at the scene, the man had already died.

When all the investigations have been concluded, the suspects will be charged in court.
