Bandits have once more invaded Allawa Community, Shiroro LGA, Niger state whereby a gunfight had ensued, shooting two soldiers and killing one in the process.
The soldiers had been shot at when they invaded the hideout of the terrorists in a bid to rescue those abducted by the bandits a few days ago.
According to reports, the bandits had immediately noticed the security men approaching the forest and had consequently opened fire on them, with the security men also shooting at the bandits.
During the crossfire which had lasted five hours, the security men killed twenty-three bandits while several others escaped into the bush with bullet wounds.
Two of the soldiers who had been shot at by the bandits had immediately been rushed to the health center by their colleagues but unfortunately, one of the soldiers gave up the ghost on Thursday night, May 4.
Allawa town has now been condoned off by the security task force as residents have been prevented from going out or coming into the community.
