Sonia Ekweremadu, the daughter of former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, has expressed deep sadness and guilt over the recent court sentencing of her parents in an organ-harvesting plot suit in the United Kingdom on Friday, May 5.
According to reports, a UK court had on Friday sentenced Ekweremadu to a total of nine years and eight months in prison while his wife, Beatrice, had been sentenced to four years and six months in jail for assisting in the plot to harvest a man’s kidney.
Meanwhile, the third accomplice, a medical doctor, Dr. Obinna Obeta, has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment.
During an interview with BBC after the court judgment on Friday, Sonia disclosed feeling guilty about the whole situation.
According to her, she feels guilty because ‘all these have happened because of me’
When asked how her parents have handled their separate judgments so far, the 25-year-old had admitted that she could not exactly guess what they were feeling.
