The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC had on Friday, May 19, sealed off an illegal herbal mixture factory at Adebola, Ibadan, Oyo State.
According to reports, the concoction being produced at the factory was meant for the treatment of malaria, body ache, and hypertension.
And further investigation revealed that the herbal mix had been distributed across major cities in the country with no formal approval from the regulatory agency.
Meanwhile, the factory operator has disclosed that he has been working at the factory for more than five years, affirming that he was still in the process of getting all necessary documents approved with NAFDAC.
However, the premises of the illegal factory has been shut off by NAFDAC officials, while the suspect has been handed over to the police for prosecution after investigations are conducted.
