Coming straight from Abuja, the Presidential Election Tribunal has ordered that phones and other gadgets should not be used in the courtroom, and this order is to take effect from Monday, May 22nd.

This new development was disclosed in the court premises this morning, as they were attached to the courtroom doors, for everyone to see.

According to reporters and from the videos shared on Twitter, Lawyers, and journalists were asked to submit their phones before they could enter the court, some of them refused and were seen stranded outside the court as they were refused entry.

However, they were allowed entry into the court some minutes later, due to the agitations and protests from the crowd outside.

According to the Tribunal Secretary, Josephine Ekperobe, the order is to take effect from Monday, May 22nd. The reason for such an order was not said.

So from Monday, May 22nd, lawyers and journalists will not be allowed entry into the court, unless they put away their phones and gadgets.
