The officers of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA, have exposed a hidden laboratory manufacturing harmful illegal substance, Methamphetamine, in a residential area located in Ikeja Lagos state where already sealed sachets of the drug and different precursor chemicals used in the manufacturing process were recovered.
The laboratory located at No. 4 Bode Oluwo Street, in Mende, Maryland Ikeja was besieged by anti-narcotics officers of the Agency on Tuesday, 6th June after notable intelligence and surveillance units verified that the illicit substance was being made in the duplex apartment.
Femi Babafemi, the NDLEA spokesman, had stated that at the end of the search, one kg of already manufactured and sealed methamphetamine, along with several quantities of precursor chemicals and other items used for producing the illicit drug were recovered from the building.
Meanwhile, efforts are being made to apprehend the owner of the duplex who is now, according to reports, on the run.
