Juju Myth Debunked: Supposedly Powerful Native Doctor Abducted and Freed Without Vanishing
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Whatsapp

In a surprising turn of events, the renowned Anambra native doctor, Chidozie Nwangwu, popularly known as “Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki,” has been freed by his abductors. The Anambra State Police spokesperson, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed his release on Saturday, noting that it occurred in the early hours of the day.

He said, “I have the information that his abductors have contacted friends and relatives and demanded some millions.

“I also have information that his abductors are demanding some specific amount which I have not gotten the accurate figure.

“According to speculation, they said it’s between N200 million and N300 million. We are making efforts to get in touch with him and also get accurate information surrounding his abduction.

“Yes, he has been released this morning. We are waiting to debrief him, with a view to getting his experience and clue of who the abductors are, so that we can go after them.”

Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki was abducted at around 11:30 pm on Sunday, July 23, from his Triple P Hotel in Oba, Idemili North Local Government Area of the state. Following his kidnapping, the abductors reached out to the native doctor’s colleagues and demanded a ransom, though the exact amount has not been disclosed.

According to sources, friends and well-wishers rallied to raise the money for the abductors, leading to his eventual release. However, it was reported that an additional N50 million was demanded and paid before he was freed.

The native doctor, known for his rumored power of disappearance, could not escape when the kidnappers came for him. Tragically, his two personal aides were killed before he was effortlessly taken away from his hotel.

The ease of his abduction has raised questions about the authenticity of his supposed powers, leaving many Nigerians surprised and skeptical about his abilities. As the news spread, social media erupted with reactions from Nigerians, with many expressing skepticism about the existence of “juju” or supernatural powers. Some found humor in the situation, joking about the irony of a supposed powerful native doctor being unable to protect himself.

While Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki celebrates his release with friends and well-wishers, the incident has sparked discussions about the legitimacy of native doctors and their purported powers. Nigerians are expressing mixed reactions, with some suggesting that the police investigate the source of his wealth, suspecting involvement in illicit activities under the guise of being a herbalist.

The incident has sparked debates about the legitimacy of traditional practices and the role of native doctors in Nigerian society. It also serves as a cautionary tale, prompting people to question the efficacy of such claims and the risks associated with placing blind faith in supernatural abilities.

As Nigerians reflect on this incident, one thing remains clear: the kidnapping has cast a spotlight on the beliefs and perceptions surrounding native doctors and their alleged abilities. The incident has also highlighted the prevalence of ransom kidnappings in the region and the need for enhanced security measures to protect citizens and combat criminal activities.
