An American Airlines Boeing 777, which took off from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport on Wednesday evening, was compelled to make an emergency landing at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) after its pilot reported a probable mechanical problem.

Flight AA 345, with 249 passengers onboard, had landed at LAX at around 8:45 pm. As at this time, there are no reports of any injuries to passengers or crew members.

CBS News reported that a “mechanical problem” had led to one of the plane’s tyres to “explode,” prompting pilots to announce an emergency. However, American Airlines officials have denied such claims.

The aircraft, a 23-year-old Boeing 777, had landed at the LAX without much fanfare, according to American Airlines.

This incident is coming amid the mounting concerns over Boeing aircraft’s technical and safety issues.

Recently, a United Airlines Boeing 777-20 that took off from San Francisco International Airport to Japan made an emergency landing at LAX after one of its landing gears fell off. The jet was conveying 235 passengers, four pilots and 10 flight attendants. Fortunately, they all landed safely at LAX.

Another recent incident happened when the United Airlines Boeing 777-300 made an emergency landing after a midair fuel leak on Monday.
