NiMet Forecast Three-day Thunderstorms and Cloudiness in Nigeria

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) predicts thunderstorms and cloudy weather across the country from Tuesday to Thursday.

Early thunderstorms are expected on Tuesday in the states of Borno, Adamawa, Taraba, Yobe, and Gombe, according to the NiMet weather forecast that was issued on Monday in Abuja.

Later in the day, thunderstorms were forecast for sections of Sokoto, Zamfara, Kebbi, Kano, Bauchi, Katsina, and Taraba states.

Partly cloudy conditions are expected over the central regions in the morning, with afternoon/evening thunderstorms in parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Plateau, Kogi, Benue, Nasarawa, and Kwara states.

Cloudy skies are expected over the southern region during the morning hours, with prospects of afternoon/evening rains over parts of Ondo, Edo, Enugu, Imo, Ebonyi, Abia, Ekiti, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Delta, Rivers, Bayelsa, and Lagos states.

According to NiMet, early morning thunderstorms are forecast in Taraba, Adamawa, and Kebbi states on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, thunderstorms are expected to hit Taraba, Adamawa, Borno, Yobe, Jigawa, Kano, Katsina, Gombe, Bauchi, and Kaduna.

Thunderstorms are likely to hit sections of Kwara and Kogi in the early morning, followed by thunderstorms in the Federal Capital Territory, Plateau, and Nasarawa later in the day.

Morning rains are predicted over parts of Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, and Bayelsa states, while later in the day, rainfall is expected over most parts of the southern region.

NiMet projected early thunderstorms across sections of Taraba state on Thursday, followed by thunderstorms in Kebbi, Zamfara, Kaduna, Katsina, and Kano later in the day.

It predicted thunderstorms over sections of the Federal Capital Territory, Plateau, and Nasarawa states in the early morning.

Later in the day, the agency expected thunderstorms to hit the Federal Capital Territory, Plateau, Kogi, and Nasarawa states.

NiMet predicts cloudy skies in the southern region in the morning, followed by rain throughout the day.
