Tems, a Grammy-winning musician, has replied to the uproar regarding her outfit at the 2023 Oscars, stating that it did not hinder anyone’s view.
Tems told Harper’s Bazaar about her classic white garment, comparing it to a “cloud” or “flowing stream.”
She said she felt like a princess in the clothing and appreciated the attention it drew, including from strangers.
Addressing the notion that her garment obscured other participants’ views, Tems claimed that she was unable to change into her second attire and was forced to remain in the dress.
She emphasised that there was no hindrance, noting that the lady seated behind her complemented her outfit.
What they’re saying
Tems stated:
“It was a tremendous thing, and it was my first Oscars, and when I first saw this outfit, I was like, ‘This is quite a lot for me. It resembles a cloud or a moving stream. I felt like a princess in the gown, and others took pictures of and with me even if they didn’t know me.Even prominent old white men took pictures with me, and I was like, ‘They don’t know me.’ They just thought I was cute.
