A fire outbreak occurred at the Dangote Refinery, located in Lagos, Nigeria. Fortunately, the incident was promptly addressed by the company’s emergency response team, who swiftly contained the blaze and prevented any major damage or harm to personnel.

According to a statement released by Anthony Chiejina, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of Dangote Group, the fire was isolated to the effluent treatment plant (ETP) and was successfully extinguished through the prompt actions of the refinery’s fire safety team.

In the statement, Chiejina assured the public that “there is no cause for alarm” and confirmed that “the refinery is operating normally, with no recorded injuries or bodily harm to any staff on duty.” This swift containment of the fire and the prioritization of safety demonstrate Dangote Refinery’s unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence and ensuring the well-being of its employees and surrounding communities.

An investigation into the incident has been launched to determine the cause of the fire and implement measures to prevent such occurrences in the future. Dangote Refinery officials have issued a statement confirming the incident and assuring the public that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure the safety of personnel and the surrounding community.

The refinery, which is one of the largest in Africa, has been shut down temporarily as a precautionary measure. The incident is not expected to have a significant impact on the supply of petroleum products in the region.

The authorities have assured the public that the situation is under control and that further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
