The Nigerian Week, an annual international festival blending entertainment and business events, takes place in London, UK. In 2024, veteran Nigerian filmmaker and producer Zeb Ejiro will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at this event. This honor, mentioned in an invitation obtained by newsmen in Abuja, recognizes Ejiro’s significant contributions to Nollywood and the broader entertainment industry.

Scheduled from July 22 to July 28, the festival is organized by SRTV London in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation, the Federal Ministry of Trade and Investment, the Nigerian Films Corporation, and the Association of Movie Producers of Nigeria (AMP), among others.

The event promotes Nigerian products, services, and cultural heritage, featuring entertainment, music, dance, fashion, food, exhibitions, trade fairs, investment workshops, and cultural experiences.

The 2024 festival lineup includes an Afrobeat music extravaganza, a moonlight film festival showcasing African movies, and a Nigerian fashion show and contest. Additionally, there will be a cultural display by a National Troupe and a trade exhibition of Nigerian cash crops and agricultural produce.

Zeb Ejiro, a renowned filmmaker from Isoko, Delta State, and brother of the late Chico Ejiro, received the National Honor of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) in 2005 from former President Olusegun Obasanjo. His notable films include “Nneka the Pretty Serpent” (1994), “Domitila” (1996), “Sakobi the Snake Girl” (1998), and “Mortal Sin” (2003), among others. Ejiro also created the long-running drama series “Ripples,” which aired on NTA in the 1990s and is now back on DSTV.
