The Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, Mele Kyari strongly dismissed allegations of economic sabotage against the company. At a recent sittings of the Ad-hoc Committee led by Senator Opeyemi Bamidele in Abuja, Kyari stressed that NNPCL officials are not involved in importing substandard petroleum products.
Kyari expressed frustration over media attacks which are anti-social in nature. He emphasized that NNPCL values integrity and transparency as its core principles. “We are not criminals and we are not thieves. We will uphold our dignity always when serving this noble nation” he stated.
Observing the “bleeding” oil and gas industry, he gave hints about undisclosed issues asking for live televised committee sessions for public scrutiny.
NNPCL stance aims at rectifying any misconception, ensuring the company’s reputation remains intact.
