What they’re saying

“AI has the potential to offer possibilities for everyone, from the extraordinary to the everyday, bringing new waves of creativity, social, and economic growth.

“It’s no surprise that the people of Nigeria are already looking to make the most of this transformational technology, finding ways for it to boost their career, creativity, and society.

” Globally, AI is being researched more than ever before, and Nigeria is no exception.

“Searches for “what is AI” in Nigeria increased by more than 30%, while “how to use AI” increased by 40%, showing a strong desire among Nigerians to comprehend and use AI for personal and professional development.

“Nigeria is now ranked sixth in Africa and 25th overall for AI search interest. The data also highlighted a significant rise in searches related to using AI for creative and professional purposes.

“Trending searches in Nigeria include “create a logo with AI,” “create a CV with AI,” “design a website with AI,” and “create slides with AI,” all of which have increased in popularity by more than 5,000 percent since last year.

“This trend shows an increasing dependence on AI tools to expedite creative processes and improve job-related duties.

“Nigerians are eager not only in using AI in their profession, but also in learning more about the technology itself.

“An interest in learning AI skills is evident in the 50% increase in searches for AI and courses, as well as in common questions like is AI hard to learn, how to learn AI, and how to access and learn about AI.”

Final Thoughts

The sharp increase in searches for practical applications of AI, such as creating logos, CVs, websites, and slides, suggests that people are actively seeking ways to integrate AI tools into their everyday activities.

This not only highlights the adaptability and forward-thinking mindset of Nigerians but also underscores the growing accessibility of AI technologies.

The 130 percent rise in AI-related queries since last year indicates a curiosity and eagerness to understand and harness AI.

The fact that Nigeria ranks sixth in Africa and 25th globally for AI search interest is a testament to the country’s increasing engagement with this technology. It also reflects a broader trend in which individuals and businesses are looking to AI to gain a competitive edge in various sectors.
