The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reacted to reports affecting the pricing of its premium motor spirits (PMS), also called petrol. The company has categorically denied fixing the price of petrol at N897 per litre, as reported by an online media outlet on September 4, 2024.
This was contained in a statement issued by Anthony Chiejina, the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Petroleum Refinery, which stated that no lifting of refined PMS has taken place from their facility, and hence, no price determination or fixing has been made for that product.
Additionally, they reiterated that since the PMS market is strictly regulated with respect to government authorities, one cannot influence or fix prices. Dangote Petroleum Refinery reassured Nigerians about its focus on providing high-quality petroleum products all over Nigeria.
They also advised people to ignore such misrepresentation, hence, they will require looking for accurate information through official statements
