Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also reiterated its fears on the increasing rate of violence in Lebanon expressing that there might be negative effects on regional security and stability.

“The kingdom makes it known that it is monitoring the situation with great attention, and it underlines the importance of respecting the sovereignty and the territorial borders of the Lebanese state,” said the Directorate General of Foreign Affairs Communication.

Within the fight between Hezbollah and Israel, hundreds have already died; this includes the reports from the health ministry in Lebanon that stated there were Israeli strikes that killed at least 490 civilians including over 90 women and children, and 1,645 other people injured.

Saudi Arabia also expressed its support for the Lebanese people and reported plans for medical and humanitarian assistance in these dark hours.

The kingdom called for all the parties to show the highest level of restraint and refrain from waging a war, also daring the international community to act firmly in the defense of peace and security.

“The situation requires immediate attention and for taking actions collectively in order to avert any further aggravation is indeed in order.” The ministry concluded.

The conflict has begun on October 8, 2023, when Hezbollah militants targeted Israel with a barrage of rockets in support of Hamas in the Gaza region.

This has led to Israel conducting the most comprehensive military operations in Lebanon since 2006, which has included airstrikes on Friday night operational against Hezbollah’s command center located in Dahieh, a district in the southern part of Beirut.
