A new Imo REC takes over the reins

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has appointed a new Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Imo State. She is Sylvia Agu, a professor.

Agu replaced Prof. Francis Ezeonu, a professor of administration at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), whose contract had expired in July.

The new REC was welcomed by the administrative secretary of the state’s electoral agency, Thomas Ongele, a lawyer, and other management staff members, according to a statement made yesterday by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Commission in the state, Dr. Chinenye Chijioke-Osuji.
