The rescheduled presidential and National Assembly elections in seven local government areas of Abia State have been put on hold by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
A new date would be notified in due course, according to INEC’s Chief of Voter Education and Publicity in Abia State, Mrs. Rebecca Jim.
The spokesperson stated that the proposed election in polling units where the election could not take place on Saturday, February 25, 2023, in Abia State, slated for Monday, February 27, 2023, has been postponed.
