The Police Command in the Federal Capital Territory had on Friday said Yushau Shuaibu, who was previously arrested over attempted suicide on July 8 has just been released.
Recall that Yushau had on July 8, attempted to take his own life by scrambling up a broadcast mast belonging to Aso Radio in Katampe, Abuja. When probed on the reasons for his actions, he explained that his action was to get the attention of the federal government to the prevalent hardship in the country.
Thereafter, he was sent to the FCTA’s Social Development Secretariat for mental assessment and evaluation.
The police had said that symptoms of anxiety, persistent worry and fears were observed while they were profiling the suspect.
However, on Friday, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh released a statement, saying that Yushau was released on Thursday.
He was eventually released on bail to his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju.
