Opeyemi Olaleye, who was the victim of a power-hungry naval officer has been battling to save his left eye after an encounter with the naval officer over a parking space.
The incident had occurred last Wednesday, April 26 when an encounter with some naval ratings attached to the Nigerian Navy School of Music, Ota, Ogun State had left him battered and bruised.
According to reports, on the day of the incident, Olaleye, a football lover, had joined others to watch a football match at a viewing center located in Akeja community, Ota Area of Ogun state. On arriving at the center with his friend at around 9.30 pm, the victim had parked his car at a space where he felt it was safe and that was not blocking other cars.
But trouble had visited when a naval officer began shouting at the top of his voice from the parking space in front of the viewing center, protesting that someone had blocked his motorcycle with his car.
When Olayele came out to determine if he was the offending person, and after confirming that Olayele was the owner of the car, the naval officer placed a call to several of his colleagues who came and knocked the victim senseless.
Meanwhile, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Oyeyemi Abimbola, has already confirmed the incident and has advised Olayele to get medical attention first and return to pursue the case when he was healed and better.
