Actor Solomon Akiyesi Passes Away In His Sleep

Veteran Nigerian actor and film producer Solomon Akiyesi has died.

The sad development was confirmed on Monday by the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Abubakar Yakubu, in a chat with TheCable Lifestyle.

According to Yakubu, the actor passed away in his sleep on Sunday, and his remains have been deposited at a mortuary in Abuja.

He added that the guild is still expecting more details from the family regarding the circumstances surrounding his death.

“Yes, it is true. He died yesterday. Slept and did not wake up from sleep. We await further details from the family. His body in the morgue in Abuja where the sad incident happened,” Yakubu said.

Akiyesi, a native of Ososo in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State, began his journey in Nollywood in the late 1990s.

Over the course of more than two decades, he built a reputation as a versatile character actor and producer, appearing in over 100 films.

His film credits include Marry Who You Love, Kiss My Pain, Joy of Nakasha, Heart of a Saint, Deadly Affair, Gen Z Wife, Olaedo The Fisher Girl, Pretty Liars, The End Is Near, and Desperate Ladies.

Tributes have since been pouring in from colleagues, fans, and members of the entertainment industry following news of his passing.
