Global music icon Beyoncé made a highly anticipated comeback to the Met Gala after a decade away, co-chairing the 2026 edition held on May 4 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The annual fundraiser for the Costume Institute, considered one of fashion’s most prestigious events, was themed “Costume Art” with a dress code of “Fashion Is Art,” marking the unveiling of new permanent galleries.
Beyoncé joined fellow co-chairs Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour to lead the star-studded evening.
She walked the red carpet alongside her husband Jay-Z and their daughter Blue Ivy Carter, who made her debut at the prestigious event.

In a video interview shared via Instagram by Beysgroove, the singer spoke about the emotional significance of attending with her daughter.
“It feels surreal to be here because my daughter is here and it is incredible to share this with her,” she said.
For the occasion, Beyoncé stunned in a custom creation by Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing, featuring a nude mesh base adorned with a diamond skeleton design, complemented by matching gloves.
Her return to the Met Gala—her first since 2016—sparked excitement among fans, with many linking it to a new chapter following her Cowboy Carter era.
The event also featured other memorable appearances, including Nicole Kidman attending with her daughter, Sunday Rose Kidman Urban, while celebrities such as Rihanna turned heads with bold and artistic interpretations of the theme.
Once again, the 2026 Met Gala highlighted its status as a global showcase where fashion, art, and celebrity culture converge.
