Algeria has submitted its bid to hold the 2025 AFCON Game after Guniea was denied the privilege of hosting it due to its lack of adequate facilities.
Salah Bey Aboud, the Algerian football federation spokesman revealed this on Friday
“I am currently in Cairo and I have just officially submitted Algeria’s application” to host the tournament, Algerian Football Federation spokesman Salah Bey Aboud told public radio station Chaine 3.
Abderezzak Sebgag, the Algeria minister of sports and youth, in support of their bid, has said that they are more qualified for the AFCON, considering their well-equipped facilities as compared to other countries
“Unlike other bids, Algeria has facilities that are already operational,” Abderezzak Sebgag told the APS official news agency.”
The Confederation of African Football has earlier received bids from Nigeria-Benin and Morocco. The final decision will be announced in February after inspections have been carried out in January 2023
