Instagram model, Courtney Clenney, is currently facing a second-degree murder charge according to US police officials.
Clenney had allegedly stabbed her boyfriend Christian Toby Obumseli, to death in Miami. The 26-year-old model had been arrested and detained in Hawaii with plans to extradite her currently underway, so she can face trial in go Miami-Dade County.
Ed Griffith, the spokes representative for the Miami police has reported that investigations were ongoing to indict Ms. Clenny. Courtney had used a knife to stab her deceased boyfriend in the chest, leading to his untimely death Mr. Griffith had revealed.
Yermain Briceno, the homicide detective investigating the case stated that the incident occurred on 3rd April 2022, at the lovers’ home. The problem began when Clenny and Obumseli started to argue. The cause of the argument is still unclear but officials have ascertained that the couple had been in a toxic relationship for over two years.
Telephone recordings have revealed Clenney saying sorry to the deceased while the victim is saying that he can’t feel his hands anymore. The defendant had stated that she had armed herself with a knife after she had been pushed to the wall and hit on the neck by the deceased.
“Police have checked her body for physical injury from the alleged assault but we haven’t seen anything to confirm her claims.”
The Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez released a detailed arrest warrant for Clenny on Thursday.
Fernandez had reported that the investigation by Miami police homicide detectives and prosecutors into the Clenny case took about four months.
Despite the reports of the investigation, Ms. Courtney Clenny has announced that she would be defending herself in the law court, come trial. The model’s lawyer had also stated that the defendant had acted in self-defense.
