Nigerian music superstar Davido has reaffirmed his strong connection to his homeland, expressing that his heart remains with Nigerians even while he celebrates abroad.
The singer, who recently turned 33, marked the milestone with a sold-out concert at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena.

Sharing a video from the event on Instagram on Saturday, he thanked his fans for their birthday wishes, writing, “ATL!!! Thank you for the birthday love, State Farm, three years in a row! But even as we celebrate, my heart is with home. Nigeria is going through too much… our people deserve peace. More life, more love, more change.”
Davido’s heartfelt message comes shortly after he voiced his grief over the kidnapping of schoolgirls in Kebbi State, calling the incident “devastating” and stressing that no family should endure such pain.
He also condemned the recent attack on a church in Kwara State, praying for the victims and urging that such violence must never become normal.
His birthday celebrations were made even more special by his wife, Chioma, who prayed that God would bring “permanent confusion” to anyone plotting harm against their family. She expressed her affection for the singer, noting that he “still gives her butterflies,” and showed appreciation for their journey together. Chioma also surprised Davido with a birthday dinner and gifted him a Hermès HAC Haut à Courroies bag.
