The Anambra State government has introduced an N100,000 fine for displaying funeral and other ceremony banners in the state.
The Managing Director and the Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency, Tony Ujubuonu, revealed this in a letter addressed to the National President of the Anambra State Association of Town Unions -ASATU.
This letter was made available to news reporters on Wednesday
The letter revealed the new rates for the display of posters and banners and specified that those willing to paste posters for burial and other events in any part of the state would pay the sum of N5,000 levy for two weeks only.
This new rule, according to the agency, will take effect from November 1, 2022.
A part of the letter read:
“The tariff below serves as a guide to what is payable; the sizes, description, amount, and duration of the taxes are: 4 X 6FT will cost N5,000 for two weeks; 8 X 10FT will cost N20,000 for two weeks; above 10FT square is N100,000 monthly; and N5000 for posters for two weeks.”
