Actress Angela Okorie has come out in support of singer Naira Marley, painting a different picture of the controversial artiste by describing him as a kind and generous individual.
In a post shared via Instagram, Angela recounted her personal experience with Naira Marley, revealing that he once surprised her on her birthday with a generous cash gift and uplifting words that deeply touched her.
According to her, the support she received from him was unmatched within the entertainment industry.
“One of my birthdays, about the last three or four years ago, Naira Marley surprised me. He gave me lots of money. I was shocked. The encouragement he gave to me, nobody has ever given it to me in this demonic industry where you and I know people just envy you for nothing, for being yourself, for being bold, for talking and working so hard. People are just going to envy you,” she wrote.
Angela went on to describe him as someone far different from the image painted by critics, noting that he is reserved and peaceful.
“Naira Marley was too nice to me. He doesn’t even talk. He is not a fighter. He doesn’t even talk. The Naira Marley that I know is a sweet soul,” she added.
She also recalled that after the birthday celebration, she paid him a visit to express her gratitude. During that visit, they ended up collaborating on a song, which he later promoted using his own platform.
Angela’s post comes amid lingering controversy surrounding Naira Marley, but for her, the impression he left was one of quiet kindness and genuine support.
