The English winger is expected to complete his medicals in Barcelona tomorrow and should continue the next day before the transfer is announced.
The winger is set to move to Spain for his Barcelona medical before he joins up with the rest of England’s World Cup squad in Florida, and Barcelona are confident the transfer will be done by the end of the weekend.
If this transfer does happen, Gordon would be the second most expensive sale ever by the Magpies, only being beaten by Alexander Isak’s £125m move to Saudi Arabia.

Bayern Munich were also interested in Gordon this summer and were reportedly monitoring him all summer, but it was later revealed that the Bavarians were unwilling to meet the asking price set by the Magpies, which Barcelona were willing to do.
Gordon’s last season was his best season as an English footballer, finishing as top scorer for Newcastle with 17 goals in all competitions, which attracted the European elite, with only Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe having scored more goals in the Champions League than Gordon. In October last year, the former Everton winger signed an extension at St James’ Park but has been left out in Newcastle’s final 4 league games, sparking rumours.
Barcelona see Gordon as a player who can operate anywhere across the front line and will most likely be used on the left side or as a centre forward with Robert Lewandowski’s departure in the summer.
Gordon may be part of Hansi Flick’s rebuild at the Catalan club, but this move would bring the future of Marcus Rashford into question, as the England man is currently on loan from Manchester United. Newcastle are looking to spend some of the funds to bring in new players for the upcoming season
