Ugandan dancing group Ghetto Kids will be joining international pop star Shakira at half-time at the World Cup final, which will be hosted by MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, America, in 2026.
Shakira released a social media message last week stating that she will be sharing the stage with Ghetto Kids on July 19. The dance group has already danced with Shakira in her official tournament song ‘Dai Dai.’
The disadvantaged children of Kampala, Uganda, that makeup the Ghetto Kids team, announced that they were ecstatic to be dancing in front of more than one billion viewers worldwide.
The team said in an interview, ‘We are so excited,’ while one young member, Tiyoma Keysha, added to the camera, ‘I just cannot wait to show everyone what we have.’

The Ghetto Kids, which was established by manager Dauda Kavuma, were discovered after a video went viral online in 2014 showing them performing to Ugandan artist Eddy Kenzo’s 2014 smash hit ‘Sitya Loss.’ They then went on to appear on multiple international platforms such as ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and ‘America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League.’
Ghetto Kids are the only team from Uganda to be at the World Cup due to the country failing to qualify for the tournament.
The team still has issues with the trip as a current Ebola outbreak has placed a halt on travel, but hopefully, manager Dauda Kavuma believes the team can still fly out to America for the final.
