The Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum and Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, has stated that the northern governors of the All Progressives Congress had not necessarily gone out of their way to support the now president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu when they campaigned for power shift to the South.
According to Lalong, their push for the southern presidency was to promote the unity, peace, and stability of Nigeria within the spirit of fairness, equity, and justice which the Ahmadu Bello had been about.
Lalong made this revelation during the ninth Annual Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Lecture on Leadership and Good Governance held in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on Saturday, May 6.
Lalong had meanwhile, urged Nigerians both in the North and nationwide to support the President-elect as he takes on the mantle of leadership.
