The Arewa Youth Congress of Nigeria (AYCN) staged a peaceful protest in Jos, Plateau State, demanding that the Dangote Refinery be supplied with domestic crude oil. Leading the protest, AYCN Secretary Naankin Sammani carried placards supporting the refinery to the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) Jos Field Office.

They called on the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) for the immediate release of crude oil into Dangote’s factories and stressed that refining locally helps the economy.

According to Sammani, “We are here to call the attention of the key players in the oil industry to give the necessary crude supply to Dangote Refinery. Dangote Refinery needs the encouragement of all Nigerians, especially the NUPRC.”

They demanded the provision of domestic crude oil for Dangote Refinery, compliance with Section 109 of the Petroleum Industry Act by NUPRC, feeding into Dangote’s factory worth N1.7 billion, and following up with presidential directions regarding supply in local currency.

Also, appealing to President Bola Tinubu, he urged him to follow up on his previous directive.
