Joe Aribo who recently transferred to Southampton has been doing fantastically well for Southampton, from the preseason matches to the EPL itself. Aribo who scored a goal at the match between Southampton and Leed City United yesterday in St Mary’s Stadium is over the moon with this achievement.
The game which wasn’t going well for Southampton, as Leed City had already scored two goals, Ralph Hasenhutti had to replace Stuart Armstrong with Aribo at the 61st minute. As if Aribo was the spice that the team needed to step up their game, he netted the ball into the goal, which made it 2-1, not long after Walter Peters scored another goal to make it 2-2.
According to Aribo, he’s very delighted that he’s able to contribute his quota to the game and help his team regain their confidence. He also thanked fans for cheering for them, even when they were lagging by two goals to nothing.
“I’m buzzing I was able to leave my impact on the game,”
“I’m happy I was able to help the team fight back.
“I think the fans stayed behind us even when it got to 2-0.”
”Surprised I got my first Premier League goal with my right foot.”
Aribo told BBC Sport.
Congratulations to Aribo
