Joe Aribo is extremely happy after he scored his first goal for his new club Southampton in the preseason-friendly match against Villarreal which Southampton lost to Villarreal. If we can recall, at the preseason game against Monaco last week he provided an assist. The super eagles player scored a goal at the 64minute which made it a 1-1 draw until Villarreal scored another goal.
According to Aribo, it felt really amazing scoring for his team and he hopes to maintain such a feat in the upcoming season.
“I was laughing with the boys inside. I said I didn’t even know where I pulled that chop on the right foot out from, but it was a really good feeling to score at home and hopefully, I can take that into games to come and help the boys this season,” Aribo told the club’s official website.
“It’s really important [to have scored] and hopefully I can take that momentum into the games to come.”
Ralph Hasenhtti Southampton manager, has commended Joe Aribo for his wonderful performance at Saturday’s game, apart from the goal he scored he scored another but was ruled for offside. According to Ralph, Whenever Aribo is in possession of the ball, he is very hard to stop, and he also makes good use of situations
“When he is running with the ball he is hard to stop. He was a little bit lucky also, but he always has these situations when the ball is under his feet and he finds good solutions,” he said of Saints’ new No 7,” Hasenhuttl told the club’s official website.
“We have had some good weeks and now we have the final one where we can use all the things we have seen in the last weeks to adapt and to perform well on the weekend and find the right XI to start next weekend.
Southampton is to face Tottenham in another preseason friendly this weekend.
