Arsenal FC boosted its push for the Premier League title by edging out Chelsea FC 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium. This win keeps their streak against Chelsea going strong, unbeaten in 11 games with 8 wins and 3 draws.
After a strong win against Tottenham, Arsenal had to dig in as Chelsea came out strong from the start. The breakthrough came when Gabriel Magalhães nodded the ball across the goal, allowing William Saliba to head it in from close range. Chelsea struck back before halftime when Piero Hincapié accidentally deflected a Reece James corner into his own net, tying the game.

In the second half, both teams tried hard to take charge, but Arsenal’s strength in set-pieces made the difference. Jurriën Timber put the team back in front by heading in Declan Rice’s corner, marking the hosts’ 16th league goal from a set-piece this season.
Chelsea’s job got tougher when Pedro Neto got a second yellow card for fouling Gabriel Martinelli during a counterattack. Even with some late pressure and a disallowed goal by Liam Delap, the Blues just couldn’t manage to score another equalizer.
The win means Arsenal has now gone six league games without losing and sits five points ahead at the top, while Chelsea’s unbeaten run of seven games with Liam Rosenior ends.
