The draws for the quarterfinal stage of this seasons Carabo Cup competition has been released. This competition which offers the first domestic trophy to be won in England is keenly contested as clubs look to add it to their silverware in case they miss out on the league title or the FA Cup. Manchester City who have dominated the competition for the past 4 years winning it 4 times in a row, crashed out to a David Moyes led West Ham via penalties in the fourth round, making it a double over the two Manchester sides. They dumped out Manchester United in the third round too.

They have been giving a tricky tie in this quarterfinal stage as they are facing a seriously battered Tottemham Hotspur who are looking for some redemption after a difficult round of matches in which they have lost 3 out of 4 matches in a row.

Arsenal seems to be the lucky ones in this round as they host championship side Sunderland Fc. Arsenal have enjoyed a good winning streak against the team and fans will be expecting nothing short of a comfortable win for Arteta especially as they are playing at home.

Chelsea narrowly escaped with a 0-1 away win to Brentford in the league meeting and they are destined to be heading back to that same ground in the quarterfinals. They are facing Brentford once again and the memories of their last meeting with them will still be fresh. The game led to injuries for Lukaku and Werner leaving Chelsea with no outright striker for some weeks, a testament of how tough the encounter was.

The other pairing features Liverpool against Leceister at Anfield. Both managers are involved in Europe and would most likely field a second strong team, a move to allow the main starters some few days to rest before the difficult European matches come up. But notwithstanding, it offers an interesting prospect for football lovers as the two teams will definitely give it a chance to make it to the semi-finals and a chance to play at Wembley Stadium one more time in their careers.
