Nigerian rap icon Olamide Adedeji has teamed up once again with singer Asake for a new track titled ‘99’, the latest offering from his forthcoming self-titled album, Olamidé.
The newly released single also features contributions from producer-turned-artist Young Jonn, street-hop star Seyi Vibez, and British vocalist Daecolm. Produced by Willis, ‘99’ blends talents from different corners of the Afrobeats scene, offering fans a taste of what’s to come on the highly anticipated album.
The 17-track project, Olamidé, is set to drop on June 18, 2025. It will include previously released singles such as ‘Hello Habibi’, ‘Metaverse’, and ‘Uptown Disco’ — the latter featuring both Asake and Fireboy DML.
Asake’s appearance on ‘99’ has stirred excitement, especially following ongoing rumors of a fallout between him and Olamide. The speculation intensified earlier this year after Asake launched his own label, Giran Republic, in February and dropped his first single under the imprint titled ‘Why Love’. However, his involvement in ‘99’ indicates that any perceived rift between the two may be overstated, with their creative partnership seemingly still intact.
The official video for ‘99’ is expected to premiere in the coming days.
Olamidé will mark Olamide’s 11th solo studio album. In April 2025, he made waves with ‘Kai’, a long-awaited collaboration with Wizkid — their first joint effort since ‘Omo To Shan’ in 2011.
