Ayra Starr has made history as the first Nigerian female artiste to reach 1 billion views on YouTube, setting a new record in the Nigerian music industry.
The 23-year-old singer has officially overtaken Yemi Alade, who previously held the record with 805 million views.
According to Daily Post, Ayra Starr’s Grammy-nominated hit single Rush played a significant role in the milestone, amassing over 450 million views alone.
With this achievement, Ayra Starr joins the exclusive club of Nigerian artistes who have crossed the 1 billion view mark on the platform, including Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Rema, Flavour, CKay, Kizz Daniel, P-Square, Omah Lay, Fireboy, and Tekno.
