To celebrate her 22nd birthday, popular singer Ayra Starr recently partnered with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative (LFBI), a non-profit dedicated to fighting hunger and providing sustainable living solutions to vulnerable communities in Nigeria. On June 19, 2024, the outreach event successfully fed 21 families in the Agege area of Lagos.
The event saw participation from members of the Mavin Records team, the LFBI team, and the beneficiaries. The initiative had both short-term and long-term components.
As per a statement to Saturday Beats, the short-term plan involved distributing 21 boxes of food, enough to sustain a family of five for two to three weeks. The long-term strategy provided the families with resources for poultry farming.
Other activities included a refresher course on poultry farming for the beneficiaries, a tour of the LFBI facility, and the distribution of food boxes and poultry resources.
Ayra Starr expressed her joy, stating, “I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to partner with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative and use my platform meaningfully. This is the best way I could imagine celebrating my 22nd birthday.”
