Azerbaijan’s defense ministry disclosed that Armenian forces had initiated an overnight attack on its troops, prompting retaliatory action by Azerbaijani army units on Saturday.
According to the ministry, Armenian units unleashed small arms fire on Azerbaijani soldiers stationed in Sadarak, located in the northern region of Nakhchivan—an exclave of Azerbaijan, sharing borders with Armenia, Turkey, and Iran.
The official statement from the ministry did not provide information regarding any casualties resulting from the incident. This development occurred amid escalating tensions between Armenia and Azerbaijan in recent days.
