Big Brother Naija is returning for its landmark 10th season, promising viewers an electrifying blend of drama, strategy, and entertainment — and with a record-breaking grand prize of ₦150 million at stake.
The announcement was made by the Executive Head of General Entertainment at MultiChoice Group, Busola Tejumola, during a press briefing held on Wednesday in Lagos.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the highly anticipated reality TV show will kick off with a special two-night premiere on Saturday, July 26, and Sunday, July 27. The season will run for 10 weeks, wrapping up with a grand finale on October 5.
Tejumola said the upcoming edition is more than just another installment of the popular show — it’s a celebration of its impact and growth over the years.
“Today, we are not just announcing another season, we are celebrating a legacy,” she said.
While the official theme of Season 10 will remain under wraps until the premiere night, Tejumola teased a season filled with fresh energy and surprises.
“Viewers can anticipate a fresh wave of excitement,” she noted. “The beloved Ebuka Obi-Uchendu is returning as host, guiding viewers through every twist and turn of the season.”
Highlighting the scale of this year’s show, she revealed: “This 10th season also has the highest prize at stake – valued at a whopping N150 million.”
Tejumola emphasized that Big Brother Naija has evolved into more than a TV program, calling it a major influence on pop culture and the Nigerian entertainment scene.
“It’s a living, breathing cultural force,” she said. “It has given voice to a new generation of talent, creatives, entertainers, and the influencer community.
“It has refined what homegrown entertainment can achieve when it is done at scale with intention and ambition.”
She added that the two-night launch will mark the beginning of what promises to be one of the show’s most engaging seasons yet.
NAN also reports that this year’s edition followed a thorough audition process. The call for entries ran from May 3 to May 7, attracting thousands of hopefuls from across the country. Successful applicants were then invited for physical auditions held in Lagos, Abuja, and Enugu between May 16 and May 18.
Big Brother Naija Season 10 is expected to air on DStv and GOtv platforms.
