Big Brother Naija star Doyinsola Anuoluwapo David, known as Doyin, made a surprising admission about her time on the reality show. During a recent podcast appearance on CreativiTEA with Lynda, Doyin disclosed that she pretended to be someone else during her first appearance on the show in 2022.
“My first run wasn’t my best run, to be honest. I have been on the show twice, and I came out of the show, and I hated it. I was fake. I came out with the narrative that Doyin is too mature. She is always trying to talk things out; that’s not really me oo. In real life, I fight,” she said.
Doyin’s revelation has generated a variety of responses from fans. Some have praised her for being honest, while others have criticized her for being fake. This news is unexpected, given Doyin’s reputation for being outspoken on the show, which earned her the label of “a talkative” from both her housemates and viewers. Apart from admitting to faking her personality, Doyin also disclosed that she lost a brand deal because of an interview she participated in, which led to the termination of her contract.
“There is no bad or good brand. I had a brand that dropped me. They had signed me and paid me the money, but they called and asked for a refund, and it was because of an interview I did. And to be fair to them, I deserved to be dropped because why did I talk?”
Following her eviction, Doyin asserted that Nigerian audiences are unprepared for a reality TV format, criticizing fans for voting her out due to her outspoken personality.
