No more than a few days after the curtains fell on Big Brother Naija Season 9, a very fiery scandal has hit the reality TV world. Wanni, the first runner-up of the season, has landed herself in the midst of a debt controversy that is making tongues wag on social media. Trust Nigerians never to miss out on the drama.
It all started with a Facebook page, Big Brother Shaderoom, which dragged Wanni for refusing to pay for the PR services rendered on her behalf during the show. According to the page, Wanni’s management did not settle an outstanding bill for her promotion. The page didn’t stop there, it went ahead and released some damning proof of an exchange with one supposed member of Wanni’s team that went viral.
Expectedly, the internet is divided. Wanni’s fans have gone on to defend her, accusing Big Brother Shaderoom of using her name to trend and stating that she owes nobody anything. Critics are not buying into that, though. To them, she is a debtor and she needs to clear her name by paying up.
