Nigerian singer Bella Shmurda has spoken about the impact of losing his close friend and frequent collaborator, Mohbad, revealing that the tragedy completely altered the way he views life.
During a recent livestream with TikToker Joblaq, Bella explained that he is currently in a period of rediscovery following the painful loss.
“RIP Mohbad. After he passed away my brain reset, everything changed. The way I see things in life also changed,” he said, noting that the experience pushed him to rethink his priorities and approach to life.
Reflecting further, he likened his new perspective to the cautionary words parents often give their children.
“There’s a time that our parents use to tell us when we misbehave that, ‘You’re misbehaving, right? Don’t worry, very soon you will understand,’” he remarked, admitting that he now understands the weight of those words.
“I’m currently in that phase where I’m starting to understand. I have understood certain things,” he added, stressing that Mohbad’s passing has opened his eyes to life’s realities and the lessons that come with loss.
It’s worth noting that Mohbad passed away under controversial circumstances on September 12, 2023.
