The Benue State Government has launched a committee to reclaim all stolen government property by the immediate past government.
This news is coming days after Governor Hyacinth Alia had through his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, lamented the looting of government vehicles by the immediate past government, a move he alleged was headed by Samuel Ortom.
Meanwhile, the former Special Adviser to the immediate past governor, Terver Akase had in his response to Governor Alia stated that the State Executive Council, SEC, of the past administration had approved a waiver, permitting government officials to leave their respective offices with their official vehicles.
However, Kula had released a statement on Sunday stating that the governor had launched an assets recovery committee at the state and local government levels, and that security agents would to be involved in the recovery mission.
