Betrayal and Backpedaling: Shaibu’s Opportunistic Move towards Oshiomole for Governorship

In the latest political saga in Edo State, the plot thickens between former allies turned rivals. Remember when Oshiomole was probably kicking back, sipping juice, and having a chuckle at the Obaseki vs. Shaibu feud? Well, guess what? Shaibu, who once joined Obaseki to take on Oshiomole, is now doing a political 180 and looking to patch things up. Why? Because he’s eyeing the governor’s seat in 2024.

Shaibu recently expressed regret over some choice words he flung at Oshiomole during the last election. It seems his rift with Obaseki ignited when Shaibu praised Oshiomole’s 2023 senatorial win.

Now, here’s the kicker: Shaibu, from the same senatorial district as Oshiomole, is running for governor under the PDP banner, seeking Oshiomole’s support. Irony, anyone?

Shaibu’s opportunistic move towards Oshiomhole for Governorship

This feud isn’t just a squabble between individuals; it’s a messy political showdown that even involved accusations of ‘godfatherism.’ Obaseki, previously backed by Oshiomole, crushed the opposition in the last election, even though heavyweights like Bola Tinubu and ex-President Buhari supported the rival candidate.

Shaibu’s declaring remorse for his past jabs at Oshiomole, saying they’re on amicable terms despite different party affiliations. He’s even planning an apology tour to mend fences.

Politics, right? It’s a wild ride, full of surprises. If you want to avoid the drama, maybe sipping water at home is the way to go!
